Account Executive to Account Director

Jemma McQueen
Background
With a History degree from Cambridge, I wasn’t exactly qualified for a career in marketing. However, I knew that I wanted to be in a creative environment, surrounded by interesting and inspiring people. Having worked in investment banking for a year I knew I wouldn’t find that there! TEQUILA\ was an easy choice for me – fun, fearless and provocative seemed like great values to live by.
What you have thought so far
The TEQUILA\ training scheme is a great induction into the world of an agency for anybody with little or no marketing experience. The rotation programme is a great way to meet everybody and really allows you to get to grips with the different departments. Working on the Canon account since January has been fantastic too – challenging and fast-paced with no two-days ever being the same. Finally, it sounds like a cliché but TEQUILA\ really is an incredibly fun place to work – you really won’t find a more genuinely lovely group of people anywhere.
Lowlight
Desperately running around Soho in the rain looking for a tailor willing to make 50 Japanese Warrior headbands by the end of the day! Tim Bonnet telling me that I was a terrible barmaid at the Xmas Party.
Highlight
Getting to work here everyday! Sounds cheesy but everyday has its high points, whether that be a trip to Dusseldorf to photograph new media sites or an amazing themed party in the bar – there is never a dull moment at TEQUILA\.
